GM is a participant in racing. As a result, we follow an "open architecture" philosophy, keeping our hardware flexible, expandable and serviceable. We've created a guidebook, complete with illustrations and part numbers, that explains how anyone can be competitive in Sport Compact Drag Racing. Heck, someone might just build a motor that beats the factory team. This democratization of racing is what we're all about and a big part of why we race.
Racing deals with basic human nature. People want to compete and win. GM has a strong competitive spirit these days, and its racing challenges and successes provide a great platform and outlet for this spirit. Keep in mind that GM is not a racing sponsor. We make the equipment - the cars and parts - that are integral to the sport and we want our stuff to win. It's that simple.
